Description
InWater TGP Tracker — Handheld Meter and Probe
The InWater TGP Tracker is a rugged, handheld water quality meter built by InWater Technologies of Canada for one job: giving fish farmers, hatchery managers, dam operators, and aquatic researchers a fast, accurate read on total dissolved gas pressure (TGP) in the field. Paired with the InWater TGP probe, the Tracker measures Total Gas Pressure (TGDP or TGP, in mmHg or % Saturation), Delta P (the difference between TGP and barometric pressure), Barometric Pressure, and Temperature — the four numbers that tell you whether your water is at risk of causing gas bubble trauma in the animals living in it. The same handheld unit also accepts an optional Dissolved Oxygen (DO) probe, so one Tracker can cover both gas supersaturation checks and everyday DO monitoring.
Gas supersaturation is a quiet but serious threat in aquaculture and hydroelectric-adjacent waterways. Rising water temperatures, air entrained in turbid water, algal blooms, and pressurized pumping can all push dissolved gas levels above saturation. When that happens, fish and other aquatic species can develop bubble trauma or sub-lethal toxicological stress, both of which hurt growth rates, survival, and ultimately your bottom line. The InWater TGP Tracker exists to catch that problem early, whether you are doing a quick spot check at a single cage or logging continuously across a full production cycle.
Why Choose the InWater Tracker
- Purpose-built accuracy: Measures TGP from 0-1550 mmHg with 1 mmHg resolution and +/-2 mmHg accuracy, plus Barometric Pressure, Delta P, and Temperature.
- Dual probe compatibility: Works with the TGP probe for gas pressure work or the optical DO probe for dissolved oxygen and temperature readings, so you are not locked into a single-purpose meter.
- Field-tough build: NEMA 4x and IP65 rated weatherproof enclosure with high-quality M8 connectors that shrug off wet hands, splashes, and dockside abuse.
- Ergonomic one-hand operation: A light, compact housing lets you steady the Tracker in one hand while you deploy the probe with the other — a small detail that matters when you are leaning over a raceway or off the side of a boat.
- Easy-to-read display: A 2.4-inch backlit colour LCD with large fonts stays legible in bright sun or low light.
- Built-in data logging: Log manually or continuously at adjustable intervals, storing up to 11,000 records on board for later download and trend analysis.
- All-day battery life: A rechargeable 2000 mAh Li-ion Polymer battery delivers up to 8 hours of runtime per charge.
How It Works
Attach the TGP probe and the Tracker reads the raw millivolt signal from the probe’s membrane-diffusion sensing element, converting it into Total Gas Pressure, Barometric Pressure, and the derived Delta P and %Saturation values in real time. The TGP probe is a passive membrane-diffusion sensor, so response time is fastest when there is water flow across the membrane: expect roughly 5 minutes to reach 90% of a reading with flow, and up to an hour for full equilibrium in still water. Swap in the optical DO probe and the Tracker instead reports Dissolved Oxygen in mg/L or %Saturation alongside Temperature, with a much faster response — about 1 minute for %Saturation and 5 minutes for Temperature and mg/L.

Applications
The InWater Tracker earns its keep anywhere water quality decisions depend on trustworthy field data: net-pen and land-based salmon and trout farms checking for gas supersaturation below dams, spillways, or aeration equipment; hatcheries verifying incoming well or surface water before it reaches fragile fry and eggs; recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) operators tracking oxygenation and gas balance across biofilters and degassing towers; and university or government researchers studying dissolved gas dynamics in rivers, reservoirs, and tailraces. Because the Tracker supports both spot-checking and continuous interval logging, it fits equally well into a quick daily walk-around routine or a multi-day unattended monitoring deployment.
What’s in the Box
Each InWater Tracker ships as a handheld meter and probe kit, ready to power on and start logging. Choose the TGP probe configuration for total gas pressure and barometric pressure work, or ask about the optional DO probe if dissolved oxygen monitoring is the priority. Both probes connect through the same rugged 4-pin M8 IP-67 connector, so the Tracker body doubles as a single investment across multiple monitoring tasks. A USB charging cable is included for topping up the internal battery between deployments.
Warranty and Support
The InWater Tracker, TGP probe, and optical DO probe are each backed by a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. InWater Technologies is a privately owned manufacturer based in Canada, and their team is available directly for calibration guidance, troubleshooting, and custom cable-length requests. Pure Aquatics stocks the Tracker as part of our Water Quality Management range, alongside probe cartridges, sensor cables, and calibration accessories to keep your monitoring program running without downtime.
