MULTICYCLONE CENTRIFUGAL FILTER
THE MULTICYCLONE
Waterco’s award-winning MultiCyclone technology uses the most advanced hydro cyclone technology to ensure high water quality and clarity.
An Australian innovation, the MultiCyclone is a pre-filtration device, which is designed to capture up to 80 per cent of the incoming dirt load prior to the main filter, which then significantly reduces filter maintenance and saves backwash water – not to mention improving water circulation. Waterco’s award winning MultiCyclone is a brilliant pre-filtration device that works on the basis of centrifugal water filtration and is designed with no moving parts and no filter media to clean or replace.
- Ease filter workload
Multicyclone pre-filters up to 80% of the filter’s incoming dirt load easing the workload of the filter. As the multicyclone intercepts more and more dirt, the flow rate remains unchanged. - Improving pool water circulation
- Enhancing the performance of the automatic pool cleaner and in floor cleaning system
- Allowing effective vacuuming without burdening the filter
- Minimising filter maintenance and saving water
- Minimise backwash frequency
The installation of a multicyclone as a pre-filter to a sand filter can reduce its backwash frequency to once per year, resulting in a saving of up to 7,000 litres of water per year for an average domestic sized swimming pool. - Minimise cartridge cleaning and replacement
The installation of a multicyclone as a pre-filter to a cartridge filter can reduce filter cartridge cleaning and replacement to once per season and even up to once per year, depending on the size of the cartridge filter. - Simple maintenance
The multicyclone is easily cleaned by opening its purge valve. Only 15 litres of water is discharged to cleanse the multicyclone.Waterco stocks a range multicyclones, all of which come with a two year warranty.

MICRON MEDIA FILTERS
Micron fibreglass filters embody the latest in fibreglass winding technology. Micron fibreglass vessels consist of an inner shell of fiberglass reinforced polyester resin wound over with fibreglass filament. Waterco’s digitally controlled filament winding machine faultlessly winds continuous strands of high quality fibreglass filament under controlled tension filament to create a seamless one-piece vessel with refined consistency and superior quality. There are no welds or seams or special tank linings which can corrode or electrolyse.
Micron filters operate on the basis of “depth filtration”; dirt is driven through the filter bed and trapped in minute spaces between the particles of filter media allowing the cleansed water to pass through the filter’s laterals and exit via the filter’s Multiport valve.
The effectiveness and efficiency of the filter is impaired by excessive build up of debris, clogging the media, which will result in pressure build up and poor circulation. Cleaning the filter simply requires turning the filter’s Multiport lever from the “filter” position to the “backwash” position, which reverses the flow of water in the filter, flushing the filter bed.
